Ashish Chogle, MD, MPH has a passion to help children with difficult to diagnose & treat gastrointestinal conditions. Dr. Chogle uses a holistic approach based on the bio-psycho-social model for treatment of chronic conditions, with a goal to improve the patient’s quality of life. He incorporates the use of virtual reality for treatment of chronic pain and anxiety in his patients. In the nascent field of transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation for treatment of chronic pain disorders, Dr. Chogle is recognized as a key opinion leader. He is the innovator and founder of the mixed reality-based platform CareXR which imparts critical care-taking skills to the parents and patients with medical devices, giving them the much-needed confidence and peace of mind.

His repertoire of activities in the medical field includes clinical research, education, clinical program building, and innovation. Dr. Chogle has several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters to his credit. His current research is in the field of virtual reality for patient education, and he is examining the benefits of using neuromodulation to treat various medical conditions. He has won the Young Clinical Investigator Award from NASPGHAN and the Physician-Scientist Award from CHOC. He was recently selected as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association and is in the list of Super Doctors in Southern California.

Dr. Chogle is Director of the Pediatric Functional Gastrointestinal & Motility Disorders Program and the Co-director of the Pediatric Colorectal Center at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange County, California. He is also the vice-chair of the Integrative Medicine Committee of the North American Pediatric Gastroenterology Association (NASPGHAN) and promotes the use of integrative medicine to prevent and treat pediatric health conditions.

Dr. Chogle is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology from Northwestern University, completed Pediatric residency at State University of New York, Brooklyn and attended medical school at the University of Mumbai in India. He also has a master’s degree in Healthcare Management with a focus on Quality Improvement, from University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
