Susan Woods, MD, MPH is a general internist, informaticist, researcher and entrepreneur who focuses on technologies to empower patient self-care and foster collaborative care. Previously serving as Director of Patient Experience at the Veterans Health Administration’s Office of Connected Care, she helped develop and deploy VA’s patient portal, mobile apps, and telehealth services. Formerly Founder and CEO at Generated Health, she advises health tech startups. Sue launched JMIR’s Journal of Participatory Medicine in 2017 and is Editor-in-Chief, and is Senior Editor of the Journal of Medical Extended Reality. She serves on boards at New England Rural Health Association, Maine Technology Institute, and the Hanley Center for Health Leadership.
