Dr. Nancy Baker, a professor at Tufts University Department of Occupational Therapy, is a leading figure in pioneering research in using virtual reality (VR) technology for chronic pain management in occupational therapy. Before earning her doctoral degree in Therapeutic Studies at Boston University in 2000, Dr. Baker worked as an occupational therapist specializing in musculoskeletal disorder. During her tenure at the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Occupational Therapy, she gained international recognition as a researcher in chronic pain, arthritis, work disability, and function. Dr. Baker's contributions extend to influencing national strategies for musculoskeletal disorder treatment and guiding arthritis research and practices as a member of the Association of Rheumatology Professionals.
