Dr. Harmehr Sekhon, Director of the GeriTech Innovation Laboratory designs, implements, and assess using randomized controlled trials, novel technology based interventions for older adults with and without cognitive impairments across the care continuum to improve mental, physical and social wellbeing. Previously she was a postdoctoral fellow in geriatric psychiatry at CAMH, McLean Hospital (Harvard Medical School Affiliated) and McGill University, with a focus on technology-based interventions for older adults. Throughout her early research career she has mentored a total of 53 highly qualified personnel (HQP). To date she has published 45 peer-reviewed manuscripts (H-index: 19) and have been awarded $1.7M in funding through tri-council, philanthropy and industry. Prior to, she was bestowed $0.5M in postdoctoral scholarships including the prestigious Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Fellowship Award (ranked top 3.5%).
