Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s - GI/Motility and Pediatric Gastroenterology
Dr. Alice C. Huang is the director of pediatric motility at
Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's. She attained her pediatric gastroenterology
fellowship training at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo
Alto, California. She completed additional specialized training in pediatric
neurogastroenterology/motility and disorder of the brain gut axis as one of the
first advanced motility fellow physicians at Children's Hospital of
Philadelphia (CHOP) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Her clinical expertise focuses on the diagnosis and management of pediatric motility disorders, neurogastroenterology, and brain-gut axis conditions, including rumination, gastroparesis, chronic pseudo-obstruction, intestinal dysmotility, chronic constipation, and more. Dr. Huang’s research interests include the innovative use of emerging technologies, such as virtual reality, to enhance both education and treatment for children with motility disorders. She pioneered one of the first virtual reality-based games designed for pediatric gastrointestinal conditions, helping children learn diaphragmatic or "belly" breathing techniques.
Dr. Huang is also committed to increasing representation of children with gastrointestinal conditions, such as short-bowel syndrome, in the media. She authored "A Tummy Tale," one of the first children’s books to feature a main character with this rare GI condition.
In addition to her medical training, Dr. Huang holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Business Administration from Clarkson University.
