Samantha Smith, DNAP, CRNA is a nurse anesthetist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and the founder of SimWell Innovations, a consulting service for simulation-based learning experiences. SimWell specializes in interprofessional training for nursing education- specifically soft-skills training with VR/AI adjuncts. She is also a Simulation Faculty member at the Weill Cornell Medical NewYork-Presbyterian Simulation Center. As the first Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at NYP/Cornell to complete a fellowship in Simulation Education, she leads curriculum development for multi-professional and interdisciplinary patient care teams throughout the institution. Her advocacy to establish CRNA professional development infrastructure at NYP/Cornell prompted her appointment as co-chair of the institution's CRNA & APRN Council. Samantha's research focuses on how simulation-based team training prepares multidisciplinary care teams refocusing individual understanding to collaborative critical thinking.
