As an M.D.-Ph.D. student under the supervision of Drs. Alexandre Dumais and Stéphane Potvin, Mélissa Beaudoin is mainly interested in the treatment of verbal auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia and in emotional regulation. Her research interests also include violence, substance use disorders and other serious mental disorders such as bipolar disorder and depressive disorders. The use of technology, from virtual reality to treat patients to machine learning to predict outcomes, is something that she truly believes in to improve psychiatric care. For the future, she aspires of becoming a clinician researcher specialized in the field of psychosis.
